In the Winner of the Year show 2007 I had only Carlos and Oliver with me. Also our beautiful bitch Maça do Vale do Cutileiro (Haru) was at the show. Oliver received the JUNIOR WINNER 2007 - title and was JUN EXC-1, CAC, BM4. Carlos was CH EXC-2, BM2, res-CACIB. Also Haru was very successful. She became also JUNIOR WINNER 2007 and was JUN EXC-1, res-CAC. Oliver's father became WINNER 2007!
Kasper has also begun his show career with 2 puppy shows in Kaapelitehdas, Helsinki. The first was on the 25th of November with the judge Tuula Savolainen (FIN) and the second on the 2nd of December with the judge Maija Mäkinen. Kasper was on both shows BOB-puppy!
We were with all the boys at the Jyväskylä international show. Our judge was Mrs. Kirsi Laamanen from Finland. The results: Oliver INT EXC-1, BM1, CAC, res-CACIB (will be confirmed as CACIB since BM1 is already and INT CH); Carlos CH EXC-2, BM3.
Again so much has happened. We were at the Seinäjoki International Show and had some good results: Carlos CH EXC-1, BM-1, CACIB, BOB! In the group ring, Carlos was chosen among the 8 finalists. Oliver INT EXC-1, BM3, res-CACIB. The res-CACIB will be confirmed to Oliver because Carlos already is an International Champion and the BM2 was a junior dog. This is Oliver's first CACIB. But hardly the last...
Carlos' triumps continued in the Lahti International Show (27.10.) in which he was CH EXC-1, BM1, CACIB, BOB!! Oliver's result from Lahti was INT VG-1.
In Latvia I had all the boys and Tirri with me. Results: Oliver JNU EXC-1, BM1, jun-CAC, BALTIC JUNIOR WINNER 2007, BOB; Carlos CH EXC-1, BM2, CACIB, BALTIC WINNER 2007; Tirri OPEN EXC-1, BB1, CAC, CACIB, BALTIC WINNER 2007, BOS and LV, BALTIC AND INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION! Jarco was BOB-puppy. For some reason, Jarco had learned to show himself well. Now it is nice to go to Jarco's last effort this year - Jyväskylä International Show.

Deco (Gina da Terra de Montoito) has been operated today due to the Legg Perhes desease. Everything went ok and now our little girl can begin her long recovering process.

Me and Carlos took a trip to Sweden to the Sundsvall International Show. There we met a lovely pequeno cerdoso bitch from Norway. Carlos was at his best again. He was CH 1/1, CQ, CAC, CACIB, BOB!! With this result Carlos became SWEDISH AND NORDIC CHAMPION!! Now he is Champion of 7 countries, Baltic and Nordic Region as well as International Champion!!
Today I received the certificate and the letter that my Kennel name is approved. So from now-on, we are KENNEL CARAMELON!
Today, a lovely new pequeno cerdoso Gaspar da Flôr D'Esteva (Kasper) flew to us from Portugal. He is going to be a nice addition to our breeding stocks. Kasper moved to Espoo to live with Mea and Joni. He is co-owned by me and Kennel Irezumi.

On Sunday the 16 th of September it was time for Carlos and Oliver to show themselves. The judge in the Hyvinkää group show was Maret kärdi from Estonia. After a very precise examination both boys were labeled EXCELLENT and the results were: Carlos CH EXC-1, BM1, BOB and Oliver INT EXC-1, BM2, CAC...

Now also Jarco has begun his show career. In the Puppy Show of Tuomarinkylä we had the judge Säde Hohteri (FIN) and there was also present Jarco's brother Kauko. Jarco was impossible all the time. He did not want to present himself at all and was fooling around. He got even loose once and decided to show the show crowd what was the ultimate purpose of the racing track... ;) We were quite embarassed as he did want to be caught...
However, the result of the day was puppy-1, HP and BOB-puppy.

In Porvoo show, Jarmo Vuorinen (FIN) was judge for the podengos. This time Oliver did not participate. Result was, again, very favorable for us. Carlos was CH EXC-1, BM-1, BOB!!

In the Vantaa Show we were judged by Mr. Stelios Makaritis from Greece. He liked very much both of our boys, but especially Oliver was of his type. The results: Oliver JUN EXC-1, BM1, CAC, ROP!! Carlos CH EXC-1, BM2.

Yesterday in Heinola show we hit the jackpot!! Both boys and our Deco were very successful!!
Oliver showed himself wery well and it was rewarded with the result JUN EXC-1, BM1, CAC ja BOB!!!
Carlos got the result CH EXC-1, BM2!
The little first-timer Deco was BOB-puppy with a HP.
We got a mail from out Danish friend Karin that Carlos had achieved last year not only the DK Champion- title but also the
DANISH BREED WINNER 2006 - TITLE!!!
OK.. Long time no information... =D Until this we have been lazy in our summer cottage and in different events like the summer gathering of the podengos and shows.
Firsti I have to tell the excellent news that Carlos' International Champion-title has been confirmed in the FCI, so now it is official.
Then some more news. The Finnish Monografica for the podengos was held in Kuopio on the 5th of August.
Our littleOliver showed everyone what he is made of and was BM2!! Our little fellow had found the key to show himself and I had to run to keep up with his beautiful movements.
Carlos was also quite successful. He was BM4 among 9 males. More than the placing of Carlos I was flattered of the judges comment that Carlos was the most typical and best male in the ring, BUT his brown pigment dropped the placing for some reason.
Well, we will not be depressed for this. The day was beautiful, weather was warm, we had good company and we saw some nice podengos.
Oliver's knees and eyes were officially examined today in Kuopio. Results were the following: knees 1/0 and eyes healthy. The result is good. I am planning to have also his hips and elbows checked and have a revaluation of the knees. examine
Carlos was in the ultrasound of the heart today. Our vet had heard some side voices from the heart from time to time and we wanted to check it out. Fortunately, the heart was in condition and nothing alarming was found. No side voices or other defects were found.
The diagnosis: "In my opinion the side voice do not exist. There is a possible third heartbeat from time to time. The beats are created by the closing of the valves and the third (or fourth) beat can be heard especially on thin dogsm usually when the pulse is slow. In that case, the human ear can distinguish the beats from each other. There is nothing to notify in the proportions of the heart and in its functioning and in the structure of the valves as blood streams either." Oliver became father during the night between last Saturday and Sunday. Three beautiful puppies were born to Kennel Kirmix in Kellokoski. Tirri (Kirmix Eleonoora) had two beautiful girls and one perky boy. Here they are:

Oliver has now 3 CACs. We are very proud of our little-man. Now we are waiting for our first BOB with Oliver. And I know it is coming soon...
Oliver is becoming a DADDY!!! Oliver visited a lovely podengo bitch Tirri (Kirmix Eleonoora) in Kellokoski. The fruits of their love will be born at the week 29 to the Kirmix Kennel.
The knee of Carlos is now ok. The last operation is behind us and Carlos is very happy and vital now. He loves to jump and run again and on the 7th of July we will try a lure coursing competition with him. Our goal is to get a clear run.
Some souvenirs came from Portugal. 4 pequeno cerdosos of which 2 went to other persons and 2 were placed in nice families in Riihikoski and Espoo. In addition to the pequenos, the first three medio lisos of Finland.

We were on a Show-trip with the boys in Ruovesi and Honkajoki during the weekend (5.-6.5.). Carlos was CH EXC-1, BM-1, BOB on both days and Oliver was JUN VG-1 in Ruovesi and JUN EXC-1, BM2, CAC in Honkajoki. Oliver received his first Finnish CAC at the age of 10 months.

Carlos became international champion in the first possible show!!! Our little Carlos is now, at the age of 2 years and 5 months, Champion of 6 countries and International Champion.

Ruovesi group show: Carlos CH EXC-1, BM-1, BOB ; Oliver JUN VG-1
Tampere INT; Carlos became FINNISH CHAMPION!!! (CH EXC-2, BM2, CAC res-CACIB; picture Tiia Tamminen); Oliver was in his first Junior Class and ended up with the excellent result: JUN EXC-1, BM3, res-CAC!!!
Carlos has been awarded the title of the Most Triumphant Lure-Coursing Podengo 2006 of the Helsinki Sighthound Club!!!
The hip and elbow results stayed as A/A and 0/0 Carloksen lonkka- ja kyynärtulokset viralliset. Pysyivät niissä missä lähetettiin, eli lonkat A/A ja kyynärät 0/0!! Here you van see!!
In the puppy show of Kaapelitehdas (Helsinki) Oliver was BOB-puppy.
We also took the official hip and elbow x-rays of Carlos. They left to the pronouncement of the Finnish Kennel Union as A/A and 0/0!
We also took some blood of both boys for the Genes of dogs- study of Doctor Hannes Lohi (www.koirangeenit.fi)
Yesterday, Carlos was in his firts doctor's appointment after the surgery. The primary purpose was to remove the stiches from the leg, but our self-acting podengo had decided to that by himself already a week earlier... The doctor examined the cut that was healing as expected. After that they walked Carlos and noticed that there were no problems in the movements of Carlos. The doctor also looked at the mobility of the leg and it was ok. Now we have to take it easy still for 2 weeks. In a month there will be a control X-ray and then we will finally know the actual result of the surgery.
I have thought of taking Carlos to Hyvinkää dog spa for swimming as soon as it will be open. It would be a good method of rehabilitation for him.
It is now 5 days from the surgery. The stiches are very neat. Carlos would love to lick and bite them but that is absolutely forbidden. Carlos is recovering well, he does not limb anymore.
The drugs that Carlos is getting are making him a little tired and he does not feel got all the time. Still, Carlos has begun to eat again. Today was the first day Carlos did not vomit because of the drugs.
We are very hopeful that Carlos can still enter agility and lure-coursing competitions in the future.
